Yucatan Fishing E-mail

bonefishing.jpgWhether you are into the deep sea or playing it closer to shore on the flats, the Yucatan has it all.

From huge Marlin, Mahi Mahi and a variety of deep sea game fish the action is almost always on when trolling the open seas of the western Caribbean.

If saltwater flats fishing is more your style, some of the best in the world can be found here.  As close as Boca Paila and Punta Allen in the north and Majahual to the south you will find the elusive grand slam of flats fishing waiting for your next cast...Bonefish, Permit, Tarpon and Snook are plentiful.

Let us refer you to the best guides in the area and you are sure to be telling some stories when you get back home!

Boca Paila Fishing Lodge and Saltwater Fishing Guide Services...

The Boca Paila Fishing Lodge and Guides have been around since 1966.  To put this in perspective for you Cancun didn't even exist and the roads that are now paved highways were rough dirt and it took a full day's drive to get there from what is now Cancun to get to Boca Paila.  With a staff of guides that are unmatched in experience and local fishing knowledge, don't be surprised to find a number of them that have been there since the beginning and many with well over 15 years experience with them.  You don't get that kind of employee loyalty without doing some things right.  They take care of their own and they take better care of their guests.

Thankfully for those of us who love to fish the saltwater flats, things have changed dramatically.  Now you can get to Boca Paila in about 2 hours from the Cancun airport and it is paved highway for most of the way.  You'll get into the rough roads a bit when you enter the Sian Kaan Bioshpere which is one of Mexico's greatest natural treasures of over 1.3 million acres of lagoons and protected wetlands, but it's not far down that road.  Most of the fishing in the area is catch and release and many anglers come from all over the world to fish these rich waters; especially for Permit, which is generally quite rare but very common to the area.  This is one of the few places in the world where the grand slam of saltwater flats fishing is well within reach, especially with an experienced guide.  In fact, based on my personal experiences there, I can tell you the fishing is really tough to beat.  I can't imagaine a better day on the water than what I had this past Father's Day and yes my Father was with me so it made it all the more special!

Read my personal story below about a great day on the water with Boca Paila Fishing Guides and then call us direct to book your trip with guide services and lodging; our arrangement with the Boca Paila Fishing Lodge does not allow us to advertise the great rates we offer, but you'll be glad you called.
